The children have a squash drink and biscuit and adults then have their tea or coffee and a biscuit.

A different activity is planned each week and once a month a craft activity is organised which the toddlers very much enjoy.

The times are as follows: -

Wednesday 9.15am - 11.15am

Wednesday 1.00pm - 3.00pm

During the year we organise various events such as a picnic, summer barbecue, collect items for the Operation Christmas Child shoebox appeal, a toddler blessing service and Christmas party with Father Christmas.

We divide into groups aged 3- to year 3, year 4 to year 8.

We teach what we believe as Christians in a fun way using games, dvd’s, quizzes, art and craft, stories and discussion, drama and much more.

All our leaders have been trained in child safety as recommended in the "Safe to Grow" guidelines.

Any new children will always receive a warm welcome!

It is divided into three sections by age: Anchor Boys (6 to 8 year olds), Juniors (8 to 11 year olds) & Company Section (11 to 19 year olds). At present we have boys spread evenly across these sections.

The Boys' Brigade offers a wide range of activities, while realising that all boys are different. Each section’s programme has a devotional element, sport, games, craftwork etc.  

We’re based at London Road Baptist Church but also have occasional trips out to the beach, ten-pin bowling, swimming, Quasar etc, and camping events (indoors for the Juniors and under canvas for Company Section).  For some of these activities we join with other Companies within our area.

As part of that commitment the Church has appointed a children's advocate, Phyllis Axon.  We ensure that all our children's and young people's workers have Enhanced Disclosures from Criminal Records Bureau undertaken by the Church.

As a Christian uniformed organisation, we meet in an atmosphere of fun and friendship, offering girls the opportunity to grow and develop in every aspect of life.

The girls' work for badges covering a variety of subjects aimed at the different ranges and abilities of each girl, e.g. cookery, crafts, art, Bible stories, games &  drama. Recently the girls have been learning about the RNLI.

There are three different sections within Girls' Brigade and we meet on Friday evenings:

Explorers: 5-8 year olds - 5.45pm - 6.45pm

Juniors: 8-11 year olds - 7.00pm - 8.30pm

Seniors / Brigaders: 11+   7.00pm - 8.30pm

During the year we also have different events:

        Sleep-overs

        Ten Pin Bowling

        Camping

        Barbecues

        Treasure Hunts

        Competitions with other Girls' Brigade Companies

        ..... to name but a few.
